In September 2026, Erna Tempelman, Victoria van der Pas and Eric Wonink travelled to Barcelona for a three-day workshop with Prof. Miki Dalmau-Pastor of the University of Barcelona. All in all a very interesting and educational trip: we came back full of new knowledge.
Most of the trip was devoted to a dissection workshop on the anatomy of the foot and ankle. Led by Prof. Dalmau-Pastor, internationally known for his research into ankle anatomy, we studied the structures of the foot and ankle up close. Seeing with your own eyes how tendons, ligaments and nerves run and work together helps us to examine and treat complaints even more precisely.
In addition, we attended a gait analysis workshop at a podiatry practice in Barcelona, where we saw how colleagues in Spain analyse walking patterns and exchanged experiences and methods.
Very educational: with new knowledge of foot and ankle anatomy, we can help our patients even better.
